ICP helps develop collaborative agreements,
proposals, and in-house training. ICP Services are By referral
only. Children
may be referred by parents or representative agencies. To refer
a child to the program, complete an ICP
referral form. Services
are provided at no cost to families or agencies. Supplemental Services
are offered when the responsible agency lacks
the necessary resources to provide needed services.
Referrals can come from parents, Indian Health Services,
Head Start, schools and other agencies that have limited or no
resources to provide necessary services for children with disabilities.
Assessments include comprehensive
developmental evaluations as well as discipline specific evaluations.
The interdisciplinary
team conducts assessments in the setting most appropriate for the
child—the home, school, local health clinic or other community-based
site and family members are encouraged to participate in all aspects
of the assessment.
ICP collaborates with parents,
service providers, school staff and other agency personnel to
identify a child’s needs
and to assist with program planning for early intervention and
special education services. ICP collaborates with many tribal,
state, and federal agencies in order to provide appropriate services
to children and their families. Training and technical assistance
activities can involve parents, family members, early interventionists,
classroom staff, and other professional program personnel to enhance
their capacity to support the specific needs of children with disabilities.
Common topics include motor or language development,
positive behavior management, understanding the service systems,
increasing collaboration, and the special education process.
